ASPEN ” Clark’s Markets, a family-owned group of seven grocery stores, has announced the promotion of Tom Clark Jr. to president.

He is succeeding his father, Tom Clark Sr., who will remain with the company as CEO. After growing up in the grocery industry, Tom Jr., 34, joined Clark’s full time in 1998 as director of information technology.

Tom Jr. received a bachelor of science from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and recently received an MBA from Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Tom Clark Sr. started Clark’s Market in Aspen on Nov. 28, 1978. Tom Sr. has grown the company to more than 300 employees with seven locations in Aspen, Basalt, Crested Butte, Norwood, Telluride and two locations in Blanding, Utah.

ASPEN ” U.S. Bank in Aspen has promoted Adam Nelson and Lex Tarumianz to assistant vice presidents of its commercial banking team.

Nelson and Tarumianz are responsible for the ongoing management of existing clients, as well as developing commercial loans and business banking products. They both report to Mark Pearson, leader of the commercial banking team in Aspen, and market president.

Nelson has been with U.S. Bank in Aspen since 2004, most recently as a commercial banking relationship manager. He has worked in the finance industry for six years. Nelson spent two years on the retail side of the bank, before moving to commercial. He is a graduate of St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minn.

Tarumianz has been with U.S. Bank since 2007, most recently as a commercial banking relationship manager. He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Tarumianz has been an Aspen resident for 12 years and is a member of the city of Aspen’s budget task force.

ASPEN ” Conde Nast Traveler magazine has named Aspen travel expert and tour leader Joyce Falcone to its list of America’s top travel specialists.

The magazine singled out 128 travel specialists with proven expertise and connections in their chosen fields. Falcone’s company, The Italian Concierge, was cited for its in-depth knowledge of Italy and its special focus on walking and hiking tours.

“If your goal is to walk through Italy … Falcone is your ticket,” says the magazine. “She knows which routes have the best views, the most charming villages, and the most mouthwatering local delicacies.”

The magazine also cited her fluency in Italian and close relationships with proprietors of small country inns.
